International Conference on Gender and Diversity

Brussels 26–27 March 2026

City

Brussels

The International Gender and Diversity Conference 2026 (Brussels, Belgium) will focus on the overarching theme “Gender, Power, Belonging, and Justice.” The conference invites contributions that examine how structures, institutions, and policies shape who is included and who is excluded — in workplaces, education, public life, migration, media, technology, and across generations. It aims to be a meeting point for scholars, researchers, policymakers, and practitioners who want to connect critical gender scholarship with concrete policy and organizational change.

The Call for Papers encourages proposals for papers, panels, and workshops that:
interrogate current gender and diversity frameworks and why “diversity” sometimes fails in practice,
propose new models for equity, representation, and participation,
bridge academic research with applied, community-based, or policy-oriented perspectives,
use participatory, decolonial, intersectional, or cross-sector methodologies.

Key theme clusters include:

Conceptual and critical interventions (belonging, binaries, everyday safety)
Policy and research dialogues (evidence, indicators, intersectional methodologies)
Workplace and organizational change (from tokenism to transformation)
Technology, data, and media (algorithmic bias, gender-just tech)
Global and transnational perspectives (migration, climate, conflict, care)
Generational and age dynamics (youth, older voices, intergenerational solidarities)
Arts, culture, sports, and narrative (storytelling for social change)
Scientific Committee: Marie-Thérèse Claes (Brussels College), Chiara Cannavale (Università Parthenope), Ina Aust (UCLouvain), Grant Douglas (IÉSEG).
Organizer: Brussels College in partnership with Revistia
